It was a risk that we almost didn't take, but wow was it worth it if only for the rush! Almon and I went to the show; our mission was to get our CD to someone in her team. Our plan: after concert find a way down to the main elevator that leads directly to the tour buses.
Step one: know which elevator to go to
Step two: look official
Step three: take risk and find someone in team!!
Step one, accomplished. I used to bartend in the suites at the arena so I know my way around there like the back of my hand, maybe better! ha ha! So directly after the show, we got on the main freight elevator and headed down to the lower level.
Step two, accomplished. Almon and I dressed all in black to look "official" and boy did we, people kept asking if we were with the tour!
Step three, accomplished. After we got down to the basement level we turned to the left and there was her Cadillac with her driver waiting for her to come out. We went up to the driver and asked him if there was any chance he could just leave it on her seat (as we had a note and information inside the cd of who we were). The driver was so nice and told us that he couldn't because he would get fired, he is not even supposed to look at her! He continued talking with us and giving us tips when another person from her tour came over. We went over to talk to him. After our pitch and pleading he looked at us and said, " honestly guys, she wouldn't even listen to it, but this bus (he points to the tour bus beside him), this is where you want to get your cd into this is where some of the top producers in the world are sitting right now." As he walked away Almon went right up to that bus and got them to open the door. He told him straight up we were taking a risk and just wanted to get our cd into the right hands. He took the cd, closed the door. We saw him open the cd inside the tour bus. We talked to the driver a little longer and turned back to wave goodbye. And what happened….. a thumbs up from the man inside the bus! Sweet!!
Almon and I were buzzing!! Even if nothing comes from it we did it! We snuck down and handed the cd to someone in the team! Exactly what we wanted!
What I forgot to mention here is that I almost didn't do it. I almost hesitated on this opportunity. I was all ready to get into the elevator when I told Almon, " I don't think I can do this, I can't !" Almon looked at me and said, "we went over this, what's the worse that could happen? trespassing or being escorted out, big deal, we said we were doing it, so PRESS THAT BUTTON!" And I stepped in and pressed it! Shaking the whole time! ha ha! Whoever said risks where easy?!
It felt good guys. It felt good to know that anything can be done. It felt good to know that the worse they could say is No.
So, after we got the cd in their hands, we decided to leave, since we didn't want to really get caught for trespassing since we accomplished the mission! No, we didn't get to see Gaga come out, but I didn't mind, I wanted to meet the team that makes it happen!!
