I used to work at a retirement community when I was in middle school and they had a newsletter that all the retired people would put together. I happened to look in it one day and found a poem that one of the ladies had written. I still have it because when I'm feeling like I'm not taking enough risks it reminds me that this life is all about risks and moments. Here it is for you, maybe it will spark some of the same things it does for me:
“IF I HAD TO LIVE MY LIFE OVER”
I'd dare to make more mistakes next time
I'd relax. I'd limber up.
I would be sillier than I have been this trip.
I would take fewer things seriously.
I would take more chances.
I would take more trips.
I would climb more mountains,, and swim more rivers.
I would eat more ice cream and less beans.
I would perhaps have more actual troubles but I'd have fewer imaginary ones.
You see, I’m one of those people who live sensibly and sanely hour after hour, day after day.
Oh, I've had my moments and if I had it to do over again, I'd have more of them. In fact, I'd try to have nothing else. Just moments. One after another, instead of living so many years ahead of each day.
I’ve been one of those people who never go anywhere with out a thermometer, a water bottle, a raincoat and a parachute.
If I had to do it again, I would travel lighter next time.
If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall.
I would go to more dances.
I would ride more merry-go-rounds.
I would pick more daises.

I’m all about taking chances and risks and I’m happy that I can share that with all of you! I think people want to pursue their dreams, but the question is, how do you balance pursuing your dreams with having everyday responsibilities of job, kids, etc.? How do you just say, “F” it to everything else and go for your dreams?
