It’s really is quit amazing how time flys. I’ve been working so hard for so long I didn’t relaize its been over 5 years since I took a break! I know....WTF!!!!! So needless to say I was overdue for a vaca. Everytime I’ve gone out of town its been to work on something (photoshoot, meetings, etc.), so it was nice to finally get away and just enjoy. And where did I go?...Honolulu (Waikiki), Hawaii.
The best part about going to the island is seeing all of mother natures amazing gifts. The trees are so big....better yet, massively-ginormous! The amazing beauty of the waterfalls and the calming beach with all it’s life is just beautiful. Being able to sit and enjoy was a challenge for me! At first I felt as though I was wasting time just sitting there. I felt I should be doing something! It took awhile, but thanks to the meditative waves of the Pacific I was finally able to get out of that frame of mind and just be.
Instead of shuttles and taxis I opted for a bike. The rental for for seven days was only $75. (great deal!) With the weather of Hawaii biking was a joy and next time I want to bike the whole island, but I have to get in better shape for that adventure!:D On a side note, all that riding made me miss having a bike, but it’s hard to have that in the “valley of sun” because we live on broil! lol!
The most surprising thing to me was even though I enjoyed this trip immensely, by the end I was ready to come home. I didn’t want to just sit there anymore, I was ready to make things happen. Interesting how it works that way. How it re-juices your mind and you want to accomplish more. I encourage all of you to take a vacation at least once a year, there are great deals all the time so do your research! Think about this, your body can’t function with out your nightly micro vacation, sleep. So, how can we expect to make progress without allowing or mind and soul a chance to catch up and release all of the stresses of the daily grind. And yes you can travel, it’s just finding out how it can work for you! Whether it’s a stay-cation or vacation take the time for you!
CHALLENGE - Plan Your Dream Vaca!
No complaints, whining, excuses or other BS!! Do It! Take the time to plan the trip, Figure out where you want go and what you want do. Set a price range, since travel rates fluctuate and even if its only a dollar or two a day set aside a little money for your soul. Also, if you save some money on at the grocery store, put that savings in your trip fund. Or, maybe you lucked out and got free coffee at Starbucks, that’s right put the money you would’ve spent on you Grande Non-fat Skinny Half-caf Carmel Mocha Latte towards your soul recharging trip! Make it happen:D
